Shifts, Seasons, and Trusting God Through Change
By Rachel Roach | Rooted and Ready
As I sit here recording this final episode of Season 1 of The Final Bell, the windows are open, the air is crisp, and the leaves are starting to change. Fall is here; a new season in full swing.
And just like the natural seasons shift, so do the seasons of our lives and businesses.
Some shifts are exciting; like new clients, fresh opportunities, or personal growth. Others feel heavier; kids entering new stages, marriages navigating stress, or business plans not unfolding the way we expected. But no matter what kind of shift you’re facing, there’s one truth that anchors us: God is our solid rock.
Change Is Constant; But So Is God
The life of a mom and CEO means living in constant transition.
Our kids shift: what worked yesterday doesn’t always work today.
Our husbands shift: jobs, responsibilities, or just the weight of everyday life can create new dynamics.
Our clients shift: their businesses evolve, and ours must pivot alongside them.
Our own businesses shift: new seasons call for new strategies and fresh vision.
But how we handle those changes speaks volumes about the way we’re managing the Kingdom assignments God has entrusted to us.
Four Anchors in Every Shift
Through this season of reflection, I’ve found four areas to focus on when everything feels like it’s moving:
God first. Prayer and Scripture are the foundation for every shift. Without Him, the change will shake us. With Him, we stand firm.
Our marriages. Before the business and even before the kids, God gave us our spouses. Strengthening that relationship keeps everything else steady.
Our children. Shifts are opportunities to remind our kids they are loved, valued, and trained up in the ways of the Lord.
Our businesses. Serving clients with integrity matters, but it starts from a healthy, balanced life. Sometimes that means saying no. Sometimes it means slowing down.
Trusting God in the Shift
Matthew 7:24-25 reminds us:
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
Friend, the winds and rains of change will always come. But with Christ as our foundation, we don’t have to fear the shifting seasons.
Encouragement as We Close Season 1
As I reflect on this first season of The Final Bell, I am so grateful—for the stories shared, the encouragement spoken, and the way God continues to lead me through each season of life.
My hope is that you leave this episode reminded that shifts aren’t meant to break you; they’re meant to shape you. They’re an invitation to lean into God, to strengthen your relationships, and to trust Him with your business and your family.
So as we close Season 1, let’s step into this new season together; coffee in hand, hearts rooted in Christ, and faith that He’s already prepared the way.
